A tropical rainforest like Gunung Lumut with high biodiversity of terrestrial vocalizing animals provides perhaps the most concentrated expression of the complex ways of hearing and sounding.

Listening to the complex vocalizations of a rainforest is not like listening to an orchestra following a score composed by one mind.  It is more likely the result of a collective whose individuals follow their own path while being in tune and responding to their sounding neighbors near and far.
